Education Tours

Edify School educational tours provide valuable educational opportunities away from the classroom, textbooks and other tools which are used normally in school. Students on Educational Tours have the opportunity to learn while having fun and that too in a more informal environment. During Educational Tours, the facilitators have a chance to have hands-on teaching and knowledge sharing time with the students, for example an outing to a science center or historical museum where the students are excited to learn about things from these new sights.
It is an ideal situation where students and teachers can bond outside the classroom and where new educational environments and experiences are possible. Students have the opportunity to observe many things that are not available at school, including exotic wildlife, rare plants and maybe even the stars if the Educational Tours is to a planetarium. The Educational Tours are discussed beforehand because it allows students to know what they will experience during their time away from school.
Getting away from the everyday atmosphere of the classroom gives students an opportunity to spend time with each other in a new environment. They are able to connect on more of a personal level without the structure of the normal school day. Students are able to spend much of the educational tour days in small groups, observing, chatting and learning about each other. Having an Educational Tour allows students to bond with classmates they don’t know very well. Part of how students benefit from educational tours is by gaining new perspectives on the world. This is especially true for more extensive Educational Tours where students travel farther away from home. By coming into direct contact with a different environment or even a new culture or language, students of Edify Schools can understand their place better in the community and develop openness to differences in others.

Community Service

It’s easy to feel disconnected, as many parents juggle work, school, kids, and activity after activity.
With the help of Community services a child learns how giving back is much more than raising money; it is about getting involved, being hands-on, and teaching our students why it is important to help others in need. Our schools have integrated Community Service within the curriculum and are highly involved in their local communities, and our staff is proud to be involved and committed. The Schools choose a variety of local organizations to support through community service projects and fundraising opportunities. These opportunities offer valuable life lessons as our students join their families and school staff members in community service activities.
Making a difference in the lives of others is a passion shared throughout Edify Schools. Helping children understand generosity continues to be one of our most important initiatives. Each year, proceeds from our special community fundraising events support local children’s charities in addition to several national charitable organizations. The school staff, the children, and their families participate in activities that encourage community giving and a spirit of helping others.
Many projects that our individual schools support through strong relationships they have built with a variety of local organizations. This spirit drives our schools across the nation to help students discover the warmth of contribution and make a difference in their communities each and every day!

Clubs

We recognize that effective learning does not always take place exclusively in the classroom. As a school, we wish to broaden learning horizons to ensure students can connect to the outside world with their experiences at school. Each club in school tries to provide enrichment activities in their own unique way. Clubs are perhaps one of the most anticipated programs at EDIFY.

Club Portfolio Options

Literary Club

This club nurtures a love for language, promotes literary interests and activities on campus, encouraging students to analyze both reading and writing perspectives. Creative self-expression, articulation of ideas through word play and creative collaborations hone confidence in the students and are the very essence of the club.

Visual Arts Club

The club encourages students to bring their imagination to life by creating experiences that develop the knowledge of materials and processes as starting points for creative exploration through paint, paper, even sculpture and pottery. The club invites students to perceive colors, shapes, textures and designs differently.

Performing Arts Club

Through the mediums of dance, drama and theatre, the club fuses elements of performance to nurture a love for active expression in the students. Narrative dance-forms, plays and performances are given original interpretations through the club. The Club is open to contemporary, classical and western per formative modes and provides a platform for students to excel in the form of their choice.

Music Club

EDIFY cherishes students who are musically inclined through this club. Besides accommodating and cultivating a diverse range of musical tastes, the club also provides voice-coaching, sessions in musical notation, opportunities to learn to play instruments and compose original scores.

ECO Sustainability Club

This club encourages students to identify, learn about and adopt sustainable practices that contribute towards conserving the environment. The club also provides a platform for students to take considerable action through awareness campaigns, movements and drives that aim to sensitize the local community about the need to go green.

Humane Club

The club actively nurtures the altruistic streak in our students by encouraging them to understand and act on their responsibility towards the community at large. This involves students actively participating in, and even initiating drives and outreach programmes that focus on empowering and assisting those less privileged than themselves, honing a wide array of skills in the process.

Design and Technology

The club will promote learning of designing concepts through tools of technology, Photoshop, Animation, etc. to understand, innovate and create design and product prototypes. The basic principles of design and technology are introduced to the students who then experiment collaboratively using models and test pages.

Cuisine Club

The Cuisine Club develops the love of cooking and culinary innovation in our students. Students are encouraged to experiment with flameless cooking including salads, entrees and desserts from cuisines around the world, developing a nuanced understanding of flavour, texture and technique in cooking.

MUN Club

The Model United Nations Club gives students hands-on experiences of simulating the proceedings of the UNO, through discussion and deliberation. Students learn the Rules of Procedure in a practical way and engage with issues of global concern. Mock MUNs also prepare them to tackle MUNs at the school level.

Robotics Club

A Robotics Club in a school is a fantastic way to engage students in hands-on learning and foster their interest in robotics and related STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields.

AI Club

The AI Club in school acts as a central gathering point for technology enthusiasts, providing an energetic environment for students to delve into the exciting field of artificial intelligence. By facilitating interactive conversations, practical projects, and teamwork, participants delve into the intricacies of machine learning, robotics, and ethical AI applications. Emphasizing creativity and problem-solving, the club empowers students with the expertise to navigate the constantly changing landscape of artificial intelligence. In doing so, it nurtures upcoming innovators and leaders in the tech industry.

TedED Club

TED-ED Club hosts sessions for students who are passionate about making a change and sharing great ideas with the world.

Buddies Without Boundaries Club (Global Sustainability)

Think Globally, Act Locally. International mindedness is best learned through cross-cultural friendship and global citizenship. We care more when we are a part of it. These school-based think tanks are led by student leaders under the guidance of Global Education Destinations and the supervision of school officials. Currently, there are BWB Clubs in 21 high schools in 20 countries.

Media Room

The School Media Studio is an exciting and innovative project of Edify World School, Dehra Dun and is unheard of in schools! The Media Studio has been established in consultation with InetMedia, India in September 2019. The Studio is well equipped and its activities are coordinated by a professional Media expert, who not only maintains the studio and equipment but also prepares school videos and events.
Opportunities are provided to all students from time to time to be involved with Media projects. Students from grade III onward learn how to face the camera and do anchoring, voice over, interviews, etc. All activities of the school are covered by the Media Studio and shared with parents through youtube link and facebook. Special programmes for parents are organized which includes panel discussion on key educational issues. Students of other grades, IKs to II, feature in other ways in the video coverage – at assembly, class activity, coffee mornings and other special events of the section / class. Students are therefore given training in Media activities as per age group. The School Media Studio is also the hub for all online programs of the school. Spoken skills of students are thus developed along with their confidence in presentations. The exclusive ‘Quiz India’ – online GK Quiz contest for school students, is conducting every Sunday through the Media Studio.
Apart from students, the Media Studio is also used to prepare e-educational resources for students and teachers. ‘Teacher lessons’ are captured through videography and uploaded on Jigyasa – school’s own e-learning platform for students. It is used by students to revise or study a given topic. Even parents are given opportunities for their presentations and interactions. Regular trips to radio stations and other such organizations is made to expose the students to the kind of work done in Media. The Media Studio is also used regularly to conduct online interaction with parents to share school updates.
School has also prepared special song videos which are in-house creations featuring our students performing the song. Four such videos have been prepared through Media Studio and these have been acknowledged by the leaders within the society. The messages conveyed through these videos are encouraging and aimed at eradicating the imbalances in the society – be it girl child, homage to armed forces, fighting corona or abuse of plastic.
With the students coordinating and conducting the events of the Media Studio, under the direction of the Media Coordinator, the school is certainly preparing them for a confident and bright future.
